Oxford PharmaGenesis is proud to be 2015 winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise. This honour, the UK’s highest accolade for business success, is awarded by the Queen on the advice of the Prime Minister, and is publicly announced on Her Majesty’s birthday. The company receives the award for Outstanding Achievement in International Trade, having more than doubled its UK exports in just 4 years, from £4.0 million in 2010 to £8.9 million in 2013.

Sustainable growth

Oxford PharmaGenesis has grown steadily over the past 18 years to become a global communications leader, working in partnership with its clients to bring new drugs to the world in areas of unmet medical need. “We are proud to be leaders in HealthScience Communications, helping to turn scientific breakthroughs into patient benefits. It is a hugely satisfying role, made possible only by the efforts of our high-performing teams, which provide the services that our clients need across the globe,” says Dr Richard White, Commercial Director.

Outstanding delivery

Dr Chris Winchester, Managing Director, comments, “It’s all about human relationships, and the trust that comes from delivering outstanding work every single time. We have over 120 HealthScience experts in our Oxford, London, Basel and Philadelphia offices, and a network of international expert partners. Together, this gives us the global reach and expertise to make a difference in the world. As a result, we have doubled our UK exports in the past 4 years, and are now the leading independent player in our industry sector.”

Continued evolution

Company Founder and Chairman, Dr Graham Shelton, echoes this view. “I am immensely proud. The success that we have achieved for our clients has come through a process of evolution. Today, we have the capability to cover the full range of pharmaceutical communication needs, from the toughest regulatory submissions and health economic assessments to the most advanced policy recommendations. We have more postdoctorally qualified experts than many university departments, but it is our powerful thinking and commercial effectiveness that shine through.”

By appointment

Dr Chris Winchester, Managing Director, says, “As a proudly independent company, we have the freedom to make the right decisions for our company, our clients and our employees. At Oxford PharmaGenesis, we are delighted to receive this prestigious award.” After the formal announcement of the award in April, a UK-themed party was held across all of the Oxford PharmaGenesis offices, and stimulated considerable local and industry press interest.

On 2 July, the company was delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Oxfordshire to present the Grant of Appointment, in an event also attended by several local and regional dignitaries, valued clients and partners. A surprise party organized across all of the offices brought the company together in celebration of the award. Further celebrations were held in our London office on 14 July as a prelude to Dr Winchester and Dr White attending the Queen’s Award Reception at Buckingham Palace.
