The Policy Practice is seeking an experienced, professional Account Manager or Project Manager to be part of a growing team in the development and delivery of activities for two large public health campaigns, and to oversee the management of the initiatives.

The role includes collaboration with colleagues and liaison with internal and external stakeholders (clients, external experts, suppliers, internal and external service delivery teams) throughout the life cycle of activities within the initiative to ensure that projects are completed to brief, on schedule, within budget and create impact.

Generally, the Policy Practice’s work is focused on unmet needs in specific disease areas to raise awareness of the recommendations from our expert groups. Therefore, it involves developing and implementing strategic objectives in collaboration with healthcare professionals, health decision-makers, patients and advocacy groups, rather than supporting a specific drug brand. Owing to the diverse range of audiences and collaborators, the Policy Practice work is very varied. A Project Manager or Account Manager with a clear understanding of traditional medical communication plus an ability to think ‘outside the box’ and a flair for creativity, as well as being self-driven, would find this a stimulating role, with plenty of scope for personal development!

The ability to set up and maintain systems for financial management, project tracking and resource planning is essential, and experience of assisting in the preparation of proposals for new work, including detailed cost estimates is highly desirable.

The activities we are currently working on and planning for in late 2021 and into 2022 include: organizing virtual meetings, workshops and discussion sessions for our expert Steering Committees and at external conferences; running a small pilot study of a digital tool; preparing online surveys for distribution to patient organizations in several countries; and developing evidence-based policy reports, short summaries for specific audiences, digital media, social media, slide presentations, newsletters, scientific abstracts, posters and papers for journals. Knowledge of platforms such as WordPress and MailChimp would be beneficial, as well as experience of contracting. This role covers everything from the essential day-to-day tasks to the exciting delivery of important campaign work.

We are looking for a talented Account Manager or Project Manager who has:
• a science degree, preferably in life sciences
• experience in healthcare/medical communications.
• experience in financial management
• excellent project management skills.
