Emily – Account Manager
After graduating from the University of Leeds with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in science, but was unsure which direction to take. Having completed my dissertation on obesity, I had a keen interest in health promotion and weight management, and joined an NHS Foundation Trust’s weight loss service as a Programme Coordinator. In this role, I assisted a team of healthcare practitioners to deliver specialist weight management support and was responsible for stakeholder engagement to improve efficiency of the scheme.
With a strong desire to expand my experience and apply my scientific knowledge to a more corporate environment, I came across medical communications as a potential career path. I worked for an international communications agency within their medical education team and progressed from Account Executive to Senior Account Executive. Within this role, I managed the day-to-day running and organization of a large global publications account for an investigational compound in diabetes.
After nearly 3 years, I decided that I wanted to progress and develop my expertise in new therapy areas across a wider variety of medical education activities and deliverables. That’s when I joined PharmaGenesis London as an Account Manager and I haven’t looked back! During my time at PharmaGenesis London, I have led the account management of an internal communications platform for a large global pharmaceutical company, which aims to upscale capabilities in colleagues’ utilization of real-world evidence across multiple franchises.
I am responsible for all aspects of the project throughout its life cycle and am accountable for maintaining excellent client relationships by delivering high-quality and engaging materials on schedule and within budget. Following the account management pathway at PharmaGenesis London has allowed me to apply my scientific knowledge to the development and review of a variety of materials, including presentations, digital applications and e-learning materials.
The company has supported my career development, providing me with the necessary training and advice I need to succeed in my role. PharmaGenesis London is different to working for a big network because I am actively involved in my career development and progression, and decisions are not made by senior management in a different office.
I would highly recommend a career in account management at PharmaGenesis London to anyone who is looking to put their science degree into practice, whilst utilizing their organizational and project management skills. PharmaGenesis London has enabled me to develop invaluable skills and experience within a supportive and exciting working environment.
