Today, employees at Oxford PharmaGenesis wore their jeans to support Jeans for Genes Day, helping to raise vital funds for children and families affected by genetic disorders.

A ‘Bling my Jeans’ competition was held, which was adjudicated while staff enjoyed a delicious ‘all you can eat’ breakfast buffet.

Genetic Disorders UK, the charity that organizes Jeans for Genes Day, approached Oxford PharmaGenesis earlier this year to ask for support in developing a secondary school presentation to educate students about genetics and genetic disorders. The presentation was piloted at a handful of schools today during their morning assembly and will hopefully be repeated in many more schools next year.

Oxford PharmaGenesis has a strong heritage in the rare diseases arena, with more than 15 years of experience in providing expert guidance to various stakeholders seeking to improve standards of care for patients with rare diseases.

“Rare genetic disorders pose unique challenges for patients and their families. We work in partnership with our clients to help to bring specialist treatments, support and information to those in need,” explains Chris Winchester, Managing Director of Oxford PharmaGenesis.

Each year, more than 30 000 babies are born with a genetic condition, many of which are disabling or life-threatening. Oxford PharmaGenesis raised a total of £328.00 in support of these children and their families.
