A HealthScience approach to integrated evidence generation planning
What is an integrated evidence generation plan (IEGP)?
An IEGP brings together all evidence generation work, across geographies, to ensure the delivery of robust evidence throughout the product life cycle, helping to improve patient care and outcomes.
Why develop an IEGP now?
- Stakeholder demands for robust and innovative evidence generation are evolving
- Healthcare systems across the globe are under increasing economic pressures
- Traditional evidence generation planning is carried out in discrete functions which can lead to the duplication of work
So how do we develop an IEGP?
- Review the source materials (e.g. target product profile)
- Conduct cross-functional stakeholder interviews/surveys
- Conduct a targeted literature review (if required)
- Map completed, ongoing and planned studies against evidence needs
- Facilitate a cross-functional/cross-geographical workshop to align on evidence needs, and review and prioritize gaps
- Facilitate a workshop to develop and refine research questions using the population, intervention, comparator, outcome and time (PICOT) framework
- Develop an IEGP summarizing the outputs
- Identify appropriate data sources to address the research questions
Our clients say:
“The IEGP process has transformed our evidence programmes, with improved internal efficiencies and enhanced value demonstration, supporting earlier access to treatments. Timely evidence generation activities also inform physician decision-making, which ultimately benefits patients.”
