Oxford PharmaGenesis won big at the PMLiVE Communiqué Awards 2021 on Wednesday 1 September, winning in two categories entered: Medical affairs agency of the year and Excellence in global education meetings/stand-alone events.

The Communiqué Awards, which this year reverted from a virtual meeting to the usual gala event at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, are a highlight of the healthcare communications industry calendar. They recognize work that has delivered real improvements in healthcare and patient experience, built trust among wider stakeholders and strengthened the reputation of the sector over the past year.

Several of our Oxford PharmaGenesis colleagues attended, enjoying the opportunity to socialize in person with friends and peers at the black-tie dinner and awards ceremony.

The night was a triumph, with Oxford PharmaGenesis winning two awards and being finalists in one category.

We won ‘Medical affairs agency of the year’. The judges’ comments were: Oxford PharmaGenesis have a broad, medical affairs focus and they delivered excellent financial results. It was clear that they really do care about the development of their people and their focus on patient well-being is impressive, with a real sense of compassion. They make a significant contribution to the industry and are engaging in a lot of the big issues of the time. Their clients couldn’t be in safer hands.

We also won ‘Excellence in global education meetings/stand-alone events’. In this category, the judges commented that triMS.online had an altruistic feel that is great to see in a programme and very difficult to get! It had a refreshing and challenging approach, which resonated with newer experts. We liked the strong narrative, execution, focus and solution. It had impressive reach, a strong programme and panel of speakers. They had thought about the societal impact, taking a successful programme and evolving it well. A well-executed, successful event.

Finally we were finalists for ‘Best use of data visualisation’. The inclusion of this category is indicative of the wider importance of ‘big data’ in healthcare and the application of data science and analytics to support decision-making.

COO Richard White said:

“What an evening! Being shortlisted for three categories alone is well-earned recognition for the work of our talented colleagues across the company, and I’m incredibly proud of all of them. They’ve gone above and beyond the expectations of our clients, this year more than ever. Our success at the Communiqué Awards is a testament to our company’s integrity, innovation and fantastic teamwork.”

Alongside our entry in three categories, Oxford PharmaGenesis sponsored three categories: ‘Excellence in corporate communications – external stakeholders’, won by Eastern AHSN (Academic Health Science Network) in association with Mind + Matter and Incisive Health (Ashfield Group); ‘Excellence in corporate communications – internal stakeholders’, won by The Difference Collective for AstraZeneca; and ‘Innovation in scientific communications’, won by  Synergy HCG and Cassette for Novartis.

Everyone at Oxford PharmaGenesis offers our warm congratulations to the winners and finalists for these categories. All of them are helping the healthcare communications industry to understand how to engage with different important audiences and to help improve patient care.

Congratulations also to the organizers of the Communiqué Awards for arranging such a wonderful evening. We look forward to 2022!
