Before joining Oxford PharmaGenesis, I studied at the University of Bristol where I received my undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine. I then went on to study at the University of Warwick for my Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology and Business Management. Whilst at university, I quickly came to the decision that a career in the lab was not for me and that I wanted a job that involved working with a wide variety of people and having the opportunity to travel.

I came to Oxford PharmaGenesis through a recruitment agency after a few (painful) months working as a retail assistant after university. I was eager to work in a field related to my degrees and, after joining Oxford PharmaGenesis as a Project Assistant, I quickly became engaged by the world of medical communications. Since starting in January 2018 in a team that was then called the Value Demonstration Practice (VDP), I’ve worked my way up to the Senior Account Manager role in the VDP Nexus Horizon sub-team. Over the years, I’ve been able to work with several different clients across a wide variety of project types from publications to symposia, and the variety has kept things interesting. One of the aspects of this work that I’ve enjoyed the most has been the fast pace and the need to effectively prioritize and manage my time. This is certainly something I had to learn early on in my career and that I’m keen to keep refining. Another reason that I enjoy my job is the group of people I’m lucky enough to call my team; they are a fantastic group to work with!

Moving ahead, I’m looking forward to gaining more experience in publication development and, more widely, publications strategy on one of the new high-priority accounts. Additionally, I am looking forward to learning more about the other types of deliverables we offer as a company and being involved in this work.
