On Monday 8 September, Oxford PharmaGenesis enjoyed an evening of inspiration, connection and impact at the prestigious Friends of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) Gala 2025.

Guests gathered at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, Washington DC, to celebrate leaders who are making a difference in health information, public service and community engagement.

Awardees included Joel Habener, Lotte Bjerre Knudsen and Svetlana Mojsov, recognized for their ground-breaking contributions to the development of GLP-1 receptor agonists, which have transformed the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity, benefiting millions of people worldwide.

We were privileged to host NLM award-winner Dr Bjerre Knudsen at the Oxford PharmaGenesis table, where she was welcomed by  Chris Winchester (Chief Executive Officer), Richard White (Chief Operating Officer), Jennifer Davis (Client Services Director, US) and Rachel Brown (Communications Director, US).

Collaboration and impact
Oxford PharmaGenesis has been operating and innovating in the USA for more than 20 years. We are a long-time member of the Friends of the NLM, a US-based non-profit organization that supports the Library’s mission in assisting research, education and public service. The NLM is, of course, responsible for resources such as PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov that underpin evidence-based medicine and that are used every day across the USA and around the world.

Jenn said: “The Friends of the NLM Gala provided a great opportunity to celebrate the world’s largest biomedical library, the year’s successes and – importantly – the people who made them happen. I’m always inspired by the people I meet at the annual Gala, and leave with fresh confidence about our business’s ongoing success and impact in the US”.

Chris, who is on the Friends of the NLM Board of Directors, said: “It was a fantastic evening and, for me, the annual Galas also provide a chance to celebrate the longstanding collaborative relationship between Oxford PharmaGenesis and the Friends of the NLM. We’re passionate about building global networks and promoting open science and innovation in medical publishing. Successes for the people who use this library are wins for everybody in our industry“.
