GrahamTony_cropAs a leading healthcare communications company, Oxford PharmaGenesis takes its corporate social responsibilities very seriously. So when Tony Stratton, until recently High Sherriff of Oxfordshire, asked if we’d like to join other top Oxfordshire companies to take a stronger, more sustainable approach to working with local charities in the community, we signed up straight away. And on Thursday 15 March, we were delighted to join over 40 other members to launch the Reciprocate initiative at the world-renowned Ashmolean Museum.

So what’s it all about? “Reciprocate aims to help Oxfordshire’s business community become more strategic in their thinking about community engagement”, said Tony. “I genuinely believe that this can be a game-changer. There are over 4000 charities in our local community and they need our support more than ever but as responsible businesses we can be more effective together than we can be separately, so we need to share ideas, pool resources and collaborate”.

Also in attendance at the launch event was the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Mr Tim Stevenson. “Every year in Oxford a number of the most successful businesses win a Queen’s Award. I am really thrilled that as a Queen’s Award for Enterprise winner, Oxford PharmaGenesis is supporting such a powerful community engagement initiative,” Mr Stevenson told us at the event.

Company founder and Chairman Dr Graham Shelton said there was a real sense of excitement among the business representatives, who were clearly eager to take this opportunity to give back to the community. “I look forward to helping Oxford PharmaGenesis play its part and already have some exciting plans for what we can do together,” he added.
