Our research demonstrating the value of professional medical writing support has gained remarkable online attention since publication last week in BMJ Open.
Based on a combination of online attention and sharing on social media, our article has achieved an Altmetric score of 52, putting it in the top 5% of all research outputs scored by this method. So far, 118 tweets from 68 users have reached up to 67 000 followers, and the article has been downloaded over 1900 times.
Our research has gathered industry-wide plaudits and we are grateful for the support of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals, the European Medical Writers Association, the Global Alliance of Publication Professionals, MedComms Networking, The Publication Plan and several journal editors.
