Bold Ideas, Bright Futures: Brilliance in Medical Affairs was the theme of this year’s joint Medical Affairs Professionals of Australasia (MAPA) and Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS) Australasia Medical Affairs Summit. The 2-day meeting was held on 24 and 25 September in Sydney, Australia, and welcomed over 300 attendees and 75 faculty members.
The contemporary era of healthcare has seen changes in the role of the patient. It used to be that patients were perceived as passive receivers of healthcare, but this has altered; the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals are increasingly giving patients a voice and a role in decisions about their healthcare.

On 27 November 2018, members of the Oxford PharmaGenesis Patient Engagement Team were delighted to attend the annual Pharmaceutical Marketing Society meeting in London to discuss with industry, healthcare and patient organization stakeholders what a more informed patient means for healthcare.
