Oxford PharmaGenesis has been designated a centre of Excellence in Wellbeing this year by Great Place to Work®. The accolade recognizes organizations with excellent well-being practices and is a welcome acknowledgement of our increasing efforts to foster a culture of openness, empowerment and support in the workplace.

Leadership teams at Oxford PharmaGenesis are continually evolving and improving well-being practices to ensure they are embedded in day-to-day life. Over the past year we have enhanced flexible working policies and extended the use of Microsoft Teams to help people at the company stay in touch with their friends and family.

We have introduced a wide array of mental health resources, provided one-to-one well-being support, and held well-being events provided by our team of mental health first-aiders and external experts. We also run yoga and exercise classes for colleagues too.

Oxford PharmaGenesis HR Business Partner Malissa Chaves says: “We’re thrilled to have earned this award. It doesn’t just acknowledge our efforts to make Oxford PharmaGenesis a happier and healthier place; it tells us that our colleagues believe we’re making good on that commitment.

“This accreditation indicates that we’re doing many things in the right way. But we believe in ongoing improvement. We will keep listening to colleagues and acting on feedback to make sure we remain a truly great place to work as we continue to grow in the future.”

Chris Winchester, Chief Executive Officer, says “This award is a win, both for our colleagues and for the company. A healthy culture improves well-being, which helps to provide job satisfaction. This means we get to hold on to our exceptional colleagues, and grow our company by attracting new talent who are interested in what we can offer them too. There’s no better sense of accomplishment than that.”

Oxford PharmaGenesis’ commitment to well-being in 2021 has included a keynote talk for colleagues, held on 10 May, for Mental Health Awareness Week. In the talk, leadership coach Sarah Perugia helped colleagues to understand how to build a wellness ‘toolkit’ and take positive action both at home and at work.

The Excellence in Wellbeing award complements recent Great Place to Work® recognition for Oxford PharmaGenesis as one of the top-20 UK Best Workplaces™ in the large business category in 2021.
