Oxford PharmaGenesis was today presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise by the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson OBE. The award was made in recognition of the company’s outstanding growth in overseas sales, which has more than doubled over the past 4 years, from £4.0 million in 2010 to £8.9 million in 2013.

Civic leaders, invited guests and clients from around the world joined over one hundred employees for an afternoon of celebrations at the company’s headquarters in Oxford as the Lord-Lieutenant formally conferred the Grant of Appointment.

Presenting the award, the Lord-Lieutenant said: “Your record of growth and sales has been remarkable. I believe it is your high academic expertise, your enthusiasm and your commitment to working together that make your business so successful.”

“This is a great day for all of us at Oxford PharmaGenesis,” said Managing Director, Dr Chris Winchester, as he received the award. “Roughly 90% of our business is now for clients overseas. The fact that those clients choose to work with us is a tribute to the professionalism and commitment to quality of every one of us. What we do makes a difference to people’s lives, thanks to the truly outstanding teams we have in Oxford, London, Basel and Philadelphia.”

Chris also thanked Founder and Chairman Dr Graham Shelton, saying: “Back in 1998, your vision led you to start a company that did things differently, with an unstinting focus on quality and personal relationships. Without your commitment, drive and leadership, Oxford PharmaGenesis would not be the leader in HealthScience communications that it is today.”

The rain just about kept away, enabling staff from the Oxford and London offices to enjoy a special celebratory summer fete where they were treated to afternoon tea under festive bunting, tried their luck on the tombola and tucked into amazing ice cream treats. A surprise visit by the Abingdon Traditional Morris Dancers created much merriment as employees and guests competed in a hard-fought Morris dance competition. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, the team enjoyed a light breakfast and each other’s company, thrilled to have played their part in the company’s ongoing global success.
